Warning- Fake Microsoft update is a Trojan

Warning- Fake Microsoft update is a Trojan ----------------------------------------- An e-mail purporting to be a critical Microsoft update KB910721 is doing the rounds. It looks very real, but MS does not operate that way. I did a trace on it and saw it originated in Romania. The last time I checke...

Thanks JRL, I did do that though the macro still does not work. I ommited to inform that when I ran the macro there is a very short duration, a better description is a flash, of a message or something when I try to run the macro and that is the sum total of the macros activity. I'm using MS v11 late...

Marcus, I've tried your macro above but it does not work. The macro is very, very fast, it has hardly started when it stops. As the Blueprint.bak files are not deleted I'm thinking the macro may not be actually scanning the partition. May I ask, in the first line :- Let>root=c:\ Is it OK if I change...

Delete files and not replace them.

Hi, I've done a search resulting in my head is in a spin. :? What I want to do is to search a partition for files with the same name, that is, in all the folders in the partition and not to replace them, i.e. simply delete the file. The file is Blueprint.bak and its in RailWorks simulator program fo...

Save and backup the Registry

When I was doing a search this morning for the lottery macro I came across the macro to make a registry backup and another to restore the registry. Would you check these please for any "faults" in them. The backup macro works OK, or so it seems to as I get the .reg file. What I'm really apprehensive...

Aw gee, I feel a right twit 'cos I forgot all about the search box, you see I read a thread about members having to use Google and I assumed the search had gone.

Sorry.

Yep, it looks like the one I'm after.

Macro to win the lottery

I recall a macro that Marcus posted after a members request for one, it was for a Macro to select 6 numbers form the numbers 1 to 49 inclusive, its to pick numbers for the Lottery. I would like to use so I went through covering the last 4 years the forum to find it with no success. I seem to remembe...

Can this script be shortened

Hi, I use MSched mainly to backup all my settings in the programs files that can backup to other locations. They work OK, this one is one of the shorter scripts, but they look a trifle long, so I was mulling over the thoughts that they might be made more shorter. Its not that important but it would ...

MSched and Linux.

I did a search but found very little on this topic, so here goes. I'm getting fedup with Windows so 2 weeks ago I got some distro's to have a look at. I was impressed by the vast improvements made since 2003 when I last looked at it. I liked Ubuntu 8.04.1 the best so I got the x64 version. then I he...
