Environment variables restrictions question

Post by Randall » Thu Jun 27, 2013 12:15 am

How many characters can be allocated to an environment variable? I am trying to use 71 characters, but the setenvvar command doesn't seem to take. It works find for something smaller like "no errors" just fine.

Also what characters are we restricted to use? I assume all upper and lower case alphabet characters and the decimal digits 0...9 , correct? Can we use any other characters such as ( or ) or { or } or . (period) or comma , or colon : or semicolon? and finally quote " ?

I am trying to pass information via environment variables, but apparently there are some restrictions to what is allowed.

Thanks for clarifying just how many characters and what type of characters are allowed.

As of July 23rd, this question has been resolved, for some strange reason the test file that contained text strings in the environment variables was not working, because the last line did not terminate with a return but just end of line. I can see the text strings that I wish to see.

Hi All,

I am trying to transfer a file from my pc to my server with the script below. All the process goes well according to Macro Scheduler but when I check the result in the server I only get the name of the file and a file size of Cero: It transfered the name but none of the data in the file. Tried to do it with a picture and a .swf file but it didn't work with neither.
