Questions about msnet

Post by SuitedAces » Tue Mar 11, 2008 5:05 pm

In the help document of Msnet is says:

Each Macro Scheduler installation that you wish to access needs to be enabled. Macro Scheduler 7.3.02 or above is required.

To enable Macro Scheduler run ServerSetup.exe on the machine that you wish to enable.

You will find ServerSetup.exe in the msNet installation folder.

I cannot find that exe in the Msnet folder.

Also with the ip adresses, how are 2 computer on the same router/cable modem distinguished from each other ?

Did you buy it, or did you download the trial? If the trial then I think it will be ServerTrialSetup.exe

Regarding the second question, does the router have port forwarding set up to allow access to PC's on the LAN from the WAN? If so then each PC is addressed by WANIP:PORT.

Yes thank I found the ServerTrialSetup.exe.

Does the server setup needs to be run on just the computer receiving commands to run a macro or does it need to be run on both machines ?

As far as your question on the router.
I cannot answer that right now.
I'm absolutely clueless on routers and networking.

On that topic ,what effect does port forwarding have on security ?

You should see ServerSetup.exe in the program folder. It may be ServerTrialSetup.exe

Did you know we are now offering affordable monthly subscriptions for Macro Scheduler Standard?
